MJ had susch a big impact on me, not just in soccer but in the way I believed in myself and approached the game. From a young age, he encouraged me to take risks and think outside the box. He neverwanted me to play scared orfit ionto one style. He gave me the confidence to trust my instincts and play freely, and that’s something that has stayed with me throughout my career.

MJ was always honest with me while still believing in me and pushing me to improve every day. He cared about developoment the right way. It wasn’t just about winning games.He wanted me to grow technically, mentally and as a person too. He taught me the importance of hard work, confidence, and enjoying the process even on the hard days.

Training was always competitive and fun. His passion for soccer was contagious and it made me love the game even more. He created an environment where I could express my self, enjoy playing, and build confidence. I’ll always be grateful for the impact he had on me and my journey!

I remember Coach Tate being very passionate about the team and striving for visually appealing and a technically astute game - something that found reflection in our team name “Joga Bonito”!

As a player, it was always my impression that you called out things the way you saw them and that you never shied away from asserting the higher mission statement of your work as a coach - even if met with counterpoint opinions, you stuck to your guns.

Credentials aside, some might liken MJ Tate to a U.S. version of Pep Guardiola - for better or for worse

You went out of your way to prepare us for tournaments out of state. I vividly remember training in a special high-altitude simulator facility to get us acclimated to the lower oxygen levels in Colorado Springs, CO.

• I have had the pleasure of working with excellent coaches through out my soccer career, but MJ has been one of a kind.! He has knowledge like Albert Einstein in a soccer version and swag like Cristiano Ronaldo. Having the opportunity to be coached by MJ was amazing, I was able to be developed as a great player and as a person as well. Not many people can say they played in a professional level like I can. I owe my experiences to MJ, I can never thank him enough. I have seen him take teams and individual players that would never have had a chance to win anything and become winners.!
